People will say horrible things when they feel horrible about themselves. Mr. Frankland certainly is no stranger to having negative comments made about him and his work; it's the nature of being a pastor. I have known Herman "Buddy" Frankland my entire life. He has always been a great spiritual teacher and leader, charismatic and bright. In these recent years I have seen the heart behind the words more clearly than ever. Say what you like, good or bad: no one has given of themselves more than Buddy Frankland. From visitation with elderly and sick, sincere and fervent prayers for those who may be hurting or in need of help, to supporting missions, Mr. Frankland cares deeply for people. He does not suffer fools; in this way he might be misinterpreted as uncaring. I understand this, because I am the same way. He is from a different generation, just like my dad, a generation that has lived through decades of change and still manages to uphold their dignity and strength in ways many younger people do not. We all make mistakes. The only completely sinless and perfect human, Christ, forms the foundation of our faith, after all. You will see and hear good things and bad things written and said, as with any pastor, as with Christ Himself. It is my hope you believe the good. It bears mentioning that the congregation of Messiah is comprised of genuine, loving and humble people. As someone who has wandered from God far too often, my heart is healed when I go back to the church and the voice I have always known, found only at Messiah Baptist Church.

Pastor Buddy Frankland was my first shepherd in the lord and I Thank God for the biblical teachings I was taught under his discipleship. I have been saved 36 this coming Saturday Sept 6th,2014.
